Manchester-based artiste, Mr. Novembre overcomes heartbreak on latest single, “Nothing On My Mind.”
Singer and songwriter, Mr. Novembre leaves his folk roots behind, and leans into the pop territory on the brilliant and effervescent fresh tune, “Nothing On My Mind,” transforming personal suffering into communal release. For fans of heartfelt lyricism and liberating finales, his new single will certainly leave you in a much better place. The track came about after transposing a five year old melody he developed, from guitar onto piano, which opened the door for a more fragile and pop-oriented sound.
Departing from his usual folk influences, Mr. Novembre embraces his inner Lorde and Florence + the Machine, topping it off with the powerhouse vocals of singer, Rose Oleria. The budding pop songstress certainly brings her best to the forefront, deftly delivering on a commanding vocal performance, emphatically raising the roof on an exhilarating ending. About “Nothing On My Mind,” Mr. Novembre shares; “the song is about coming to terms with the ending of a relationship, and although you’re okay with that, it doesn’t make it any less sad. And the ending is a release, an escape into our favorite songs for a moment of respite, and Rose really helps bring that feeling of ‘everything’s gonna be okay’ to the song.”
Speaking of endings, the outro on the song is one of the best conclusions to a track you’ll probably ever hear. It’s elevating, soul-stirring, inspiring and powerful, all at the same time. The record is filled with vulnerable verses and a groovy chorus, that ends on a high note.
Mr. Novembre’s latest musical offering will surely give you a cathartic release, that you just might not know you needed. A beautiful piece of artistry, “Nothing On My Mind” is now available for your listening pleasure.
