Fast rising Nigerian music artiste, Israel Olabunkun Olawale—fondly known as Bims—has released his highly anticipated EP, titled “Don Pablo.” The project, which consists of five tracks, is themed after the life of Pablo Escobar and reflects Bims’ current phase in life. “I added “Don” to Pablo because it looks like I’m the master of whatever it is I’m doing, and that’s what I feel about myself,” Bims explained. “I know what I want, I know how to do it, and I’m not satisfied or rather I’m angry that the world doesn’t know what I can do.”
The EP includes tracks such as, “When I Am High,” “Dey Play,” “Demons,” with standout songs, “Illegal” and “What I Can Do.” On “Illegal,” Bims spins a flirtatious tale of a club encounter with a mysterious woman, capturing the thrill of connection and attraction. Fueled by an energetic and throbbing production pattern, the song paints a vivid picture of an unforgettable vibe, filled with admiration, tension and missed opportunities.
