Visceral Design teams up with Ntando Yamahlubi and Let me you for the smash tune, “VULA VALA.”
Tyler Kaufman is the founder of Visceral Design, a multimedia musical project conceived in India during his study of Indian raagas and sitar in a Sikh music commune. The project merges traditional and electronic instruments, real-time visuals, and experimental looping to create transformative live experiences.
As an individual, Tyler is a science artist, composer, producer, and instrumentalist known for blending ancient musical traditions with futuristic sound design. Specializing in sitar, he creates immersive performances and productions that fuse cinematic, electronic, and world music elements into a truly distinctive sonic identity.
For the track, “VULA VALA,” Tyler sought out the expertise of Let me you (Mathiew Davies) from the United Kingdom and South African singer Ntando Yamahlubi. Together, the three gifted acts unite their diverse cultural roots to explore the rapidly emerging 3-step genre rising out of South Africa. Fortunately for the trio, the result is an inspired blueprint for the evolution of the emerging sound—an impeccable, true fusion of rhythm, soul, and innovation. Ntando carries the weight of the track with effortless grace, as his mesmerizing vocals bring the entire composition to life, after a mid tempo introduction. Visceral Design (Tyler) and Let me you do an excellent job of capturing the 3 step genre, while adding their variations to the mix, raising the level of detail in the production.
The soundscape is infectious, transportive and hypnotic—as Ntando delivers the lyrics expertly in his native tongue, adding both authenticity and emotional depth. “VULA VALA” stands as a powerful testament to cross-cultural collaboration: colossal yet intimate in its execution, and a defining moment for each of these rising acts.
