Alaïs - I Could Care Less

Italian-New Zealand artiste, Alaïs, releases new bedroom pop anthem, “I Could Care Less.”

London based music act, Alaïs, takes us on a journey into the mind of a young 21st century woman, on her latest single, “I Could Care Less.” Alaïs is an Italian-born indie pop singer-songwriter, with musical influences ranging from renowned stars, such as Norah Jones, Clairo and Joni Mitchell, to fresh and new faces, like Lizzy McAlpine. With her soft vocals, honest and vulnerable lyricism, Alaïs paints a colorful picture of her inner world. Performing all over London in top venues such as, The Fiddler’s Elbow, Upstairs at the Ritzy, and Sofar Sounds, certainly opened up the rising star to a host of new opportunities, and in 2023, she supported British singer, Paris Paloma on her “Tiny Little Tour.”

Alaïs now returns with an infectious and catchy fresh piece, that takes a look at the modern metropolitan dating scene, and its over saturation with many people playing silly games and spinning half-truths, while trying to “play it cool.” The fresh new track, “I Could Care Less” offers listeners a raw and honest confession to the frustration that comes within this space, and how difficult it is to navigate, for someone who is emotional and gets easily attached. With soulful lyrics and a steady, groovy rhythm to match, she takes us on a journey into her new indie-pop era of music, stylishly moving away from her previously slow and sentimental folk-acoustic compositions to a more upbeat, indie pop production and framework.

It’s fair to say this genre of music certainly suits her, as “I Could Care Less” is a breath of fresh air, a tiny piece of what’s to come, as the gifted act gets prepped and ready to release her upcoming EP, bearing the same title as this track.
