sunsetto delivers standout track, “CROSSFIRE,” from debut pop album.
Canadian producer and artiste, sunsetto recently released his debut album “THE SUN, THE MOON AND THE BIG MACHINE.” The first track on the album, “CROSSFIRE,” blends and fuses elements of R&B, alt-rock, and bedroom-pop. On the sterling record, the rising music star reflects on his regret over damaging a romantic relationship, by making remarks that unintentionally hurt his partner.
“CROSSFIRE” begins with innovative guitar strums before settling into a hypnotic loop. The first verse opens boldly with sunsetto singing, “I feel like I get high and get selfish / I feel like there ain’t no way around it.” However, he acknowledges that his hurtful words and actions “sink in everytime I’m drinking.” Through an upbeat chorus, he makes it clear that he’s aware he’s the one to blame with lyrics like “Took a shot to the heart / That was my bad.” Now, sunsetto reinforces this by taking responsibility and apologizing, ensuring listeners understand he isn’t angry at the other person.
With the second verse, he keeps it up and continues his deep introspection, singing, “I fucked up like I always do / And I’m sorry that I end up hurting you / State of mind, mine isn’t fine.” By opening the album with “CROSSFIRE,” sunsetto sets the stage for the genre blending soundscapes that define his innovative pop record, while delivering deeply personal and creative lyrics.
With this project, sunsetto embarks on a fresh chapter in his music career, showing his ability to fuse other genres into pop and touch on themes, that range from joy to profound introspection.
