I realized I don’t ever want someone like him, and I don’t want to be loved like that.”
Rather than falling apart, the experience marked a turning point— one that helped Avery reclaim pieces of herself that had been muted during the relationship. “I think it’s a really positive and hopeful song,” she adds. “I hope it inspires people and leaves a positive lasting effect.”
